Little Gardener Workshop Series
This summer, we are hosting a 5-week, Little Gardener series. These workshops are geared to 3-10-year-olds. Each workshop is $5 PER child.
Our schedule and event details:
June 6th, 11AM- Peter Rabbit Returns.- SOLD OUT!
Oh no, Peter Rabbit is back in the garden! Join us on Saturday, June 6th at 11 AM to discover how mischievous he’s really been. We’ll eat snacks, read the Peter Rabbit story, learn about gardens, and plant a pot for the outdoors.
June 23rd, 6:30 PM: Join us as we learn about Butterflies & Hummingbirds with Naturalist, Mandy Martin of Darke County Nature Center. We’ll finish the workshop by painting and planting a small pot of flowers to take home.
July 11th, 11 AM- The Magic School Bus “All Dried Up”, Adventure with Mrs. Frizzle as she takes you through the desert. We’ll read a story, learn about animals, plants and desert life. We’ll finish the workshop by planting a small succulent desert pot to take home.
July 21st, 6:30 PM – Toads and Frogs with Naturalist, Mandy Martin of Darke County Nature Center. Did you know A frog completely sheds its skin about once a week? After it pulls off the old, dead skin, the frog usually eats it. We’ll learn interesting facts and more! Finishing the workshop by creating a toad house to take home.
August 1st, 11 AM - Art and Flower show.
Do you paint, draw, or plant flowers? Join us for a Art & Flower Show at Miller Flowers, judged by our staff. We have 4 categories for all the different age groups. 1) Drawing 2) Paint 3). A Stem of a beautiful flower 4). A potted plant/flower. After showing off our work, we’ll eat snacks and play a carnival game.
