"Bare branches of each tree
on this chilly January morn
look so cold so forlorn.
Gray skies dip ever so low
left from yesterday's dusting of snow.
Yet in the heart of each tree
waiting for each who wait to see
new life as warm sun and breeze will blow,
like magic, unlock springs sap to flow,
buds, new leaves, then blooms will grow."
- Nelda Hartmann, January Morn
This morning, we awoke to about 15 degrees outside. What a cold January morning!
"The cold doesn't bother me anyway!" I suppose, that the creator of this song from Frozen, hasn't met me. I am a warm weather girl. Shivering in my boots is not my favorite thing.
Thank goodness, that winter doesn't last forever.
Spring is just around the corner!
For a sneak peek of warmer days ahead, take a step (or a glance) into our greenhouse:
The first week of January, our bare root Geranium cuttings arrived from Guatemala.
Geranium cuttings are stuck into dirt, where the flats are placed on a heating table, and the sprinklers run on a timer daily. Over the next 2-3 weeks- you'll start noticing growth happening.
Bare root Geraniums begin taking root, and blooms start forming.
Are you more of warm weather person? To fight the winter blues, order a bouquet of flowers!
Fresh flowers sitting on your table is a great reminder that Spring is coming soon!
